Ecu-Line goes electronic

Wednesday, 24 February 2010

ANTWERP-BASED Ecu-Line has signed a pilot agreement with Inttra, the e-commerce platform for ocean freight, to become the first NVOCC to receive shipping instructions from its LCL shippers.

The service will be piloted next month with two of Ecu-line’s major customers, before rolling-out the solution to global accounts.

The line says the service will enable forwarders to use the same business process for LCL that they use for their FCL business.

“Using the Inttra network, forwarders can work faster, with fewer errors than paper-based processes that require re-keying data,” said David Burns, director of product management at Inttra.
