NYK resigns from ELAA
Monday, 08 February 2010
Tokyo-headquartered NYK Line has terminated its membership with the European Liner Affairs Association (ELAA). As a consequence it will no longer provide statistics to the company which publishes industry-wide trade data.
The line gave its notice in mid-2009. It is the last Japanese carrier to terminate its membership with the trade association. ACL, MOL and K Line withdrew last year because of concerns about potential breaches of Europe’s antitrust law.
However, NYK cited its concerns were more over cost issues.
